The Lakeway Terrace
A shaded deck and a low stone terrace for a house that already had the view and nowhere comfortable to sit.
The lot drops toward a view of the hills. The existing patio was a concrete pad in full sun, useful for about an hour in the morning. August made it decorative.
We built a wood deck at the house, with a roof that continues the eave, and a lower terrace in stone for the late day. The table stays outside. The lighting is low and warm so the view remains the point.
Outdoor projects move with the weather. We scheduled this one to finish before summer, and the shade structure went up first so the rest of the work had cover.
